Lindy Fuelling

Mrs. Fuelling grew up in Decatur and attended Bellmont High School. She graduated from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) where she received a basketball scholarship. She has taught kindergarten, third and fourth grade science, and fifth and sixth grades at Zion. This is her first year teaching Preschool and she loves it! She is married and has three girls. In her spare time she enjoys being outside, playing sports and being with her family.
Carolyn Voshell

Mrs. Carolyn Voshell grew up in Decatur, where she attended Zion Lutheran School from pre-school through sixth grade. She attended Adams Central Middle School and High School and received her undergraduate degree from Indiana-Purdue University, Fort Wayne. This is Mrs. Voshell’s 5th year teaching.
Her parents, Wayne and Dorothy, live here in Decatur. Her father is retired from General Electric. Her mother works part-time at Dairy Queen in Decatur. She has two brothers, Kevin and Keith. She was married to Matt Voshell in December of last year. He is an agronomist and works at Advanced Agri-Solutions in Maples, Indiana.
Mrs. Voshell lives with her cat, Zoie, and her pet fish, Carson. She and Matt are working on remodeling their home. During her free time, Mrs. Voshell likes to read, play games, watch movies, go on walks, and spend time with her friends.
Anna Selzer
First and Second Grade

Mrs. Anna Selzer grew up here in Decatur, Indiana. She attended Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School, and Bellmont High School. After high school, she went to Ball State University, where she received an excellent education in elementary education. She is currently working towards a masters from Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne. This will be Mrs. Selzer’s 9th year teaching and her 4th year teaching at Zion. She taught 1st grade in New Albany, Indiana for 2 years, and was a reading teacher at Southeast Elementary for 3 years.
Her parents, Larry and Rae Lynne, live here in Decatur. Her mother is a kindergarten teacher at Wyneken, and her father, Larry, works for Affolder Implements out of Berne. Her husband, Shannon, works for SCS Mechanical. In simple terms, he installs the plumbing when new buildings are being built or remodeled. They have two little girls named Mackenzie and Elizabeth. Mackenzie will be turning 4 this year. Their youngest daughter Elizabeth is 2. These girls are the center of our lives. They have red hair and blue eyes just like their daddy. During her free time, Mrs. Selzer enjoys many things. She likes to read, swim, travel, learn new things, shop, scrapbook, and spend time with friends. Most of her free time she spends playing with her girls.

Mr. Carl Risch has served at Zion Lutheran Church and School since 1984. He is the third and fourth grade teacher and the Minister of Music at Zion. Carl is a graduate of Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska and previously served at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He enjoys music and sports as hobbies.
Julie Smith

Mrs. Julie Smith began her teaching career teaching fifth and sixth grade at Zion Lutheran School in 2007. This is her 4th year at Zion and her 4th year teaching. She has lived in Decatur her entire life attending Wyneken, Bellmont, and receiving her bachelor’s degree in Preschool, Primary, and Intermediate education from Indiana University Purdue University of Fort Wayne (IPFW). Mrs. Smith has been married to her husband Edward for about 4 years. They reside in Decatur with their dog Dexter and their cat Oreo. In Mrs. Smith’s free time, she loves to read, go on walks, and spend time with her family.
Jennifer Phifer
Seventh and Eighth Grade

Mrs. Jennifer Phifer joined the Zion team fall 2009. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a mathematics major and reading minor. She has taught in both public and parochial school in grades 6 – 8. This will be her 16th year in education. She is married and has 3 children: Rebekah, Mary, and Austin. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and baking.
